"NYAMB Announces the Bonnie S. Nachamie Memorial Scholarship"
A Letter from our Scholarship Co-Chairs
Dear Members, Friends, & Fellow Colleagues, This past year the NYAMB lost an extraordinary individual, Bonnie S. Nachamie. For over thirty years, Bonnie was a proud and an active member of the New York Association of Mortgage Brokers, where she held many voluntary positions on the Executive Committee and Board. Bonnie served as chair of various committees including the NYAMB’s Legislative Committee, Finance Committee, Events Committee, Scholarship Committee, and Bylaws committee. Bonnie was one of the founding members of NYAMB's Education Program and was an instructor for a number of professional organizations, including the NYAMB, National Association of Mortgage Broker (NAMB), American Association of Residential Mortgage Regulators (AARMR), the National Association of Professional Mortgage Women, and the New York State Bar Association. |
She educated thousands of mortgage industry professionals and was an inspiration to all. Sydney J. Harris, an American Journalist, once said, "The whole purpose of education is to turn mirrors into windows", and Bonnie Nachamie did just that.
Bonnie has helped so many organizations and individuals successfully navigate the ever-changing regulatory environment and saw every challenge as an opportunity. In addition to her involvement with the NYAMB, Bonnie held many voluntary positions with other mortgage industry trade associations including the Empire State Mortgage Bankers Association (ESMBA) and the Mortgage Bankers of New York (MBAofNY). She was exceptional in every way, and we are extremely grateful for her hard work, dedication, and most of all, her friendship. She was a friend to so many in our industry and certainly had a knack for holding everyone’s attention. The naming of a scholarship in her honor will be a permanent reminder of her unwavering commitment to our industry and will carry her legacy forward to future generations.
We are now accepting Donations & Applications for the 20022/2023 Academic Year.
Thank you in advance for all your support and on behalf of the entire committee and everyone here at the NYAMB we wish you and your families a safe and happy Holiday Season!
Best regards,
Mary Ann Pino | Zahra Jafri |
