Course Description: 

This classroom course satisfies the 11 hours of 2026 annual continuing education required of individuals maintaining a state-issued mortgage loan originator (MLO) license in New York. Within this course, students will spend time reviewing required topics, including:

  • Three hours on federal mortgage-related laws
  • Two hours on ethics, fraud, and consumer protection
  •  Two hours on lending standards related to nontraditional mortgage products
  •  One hour on elective content
  • Three hours on New York-specific content


Course Offerings (Public & Private Courses Available)

NYAMB offers one (1) public 11 Hour Course in each of our Regions (Long Island, Lower Hudson, North East & Western) starting in the Fall each year. In addition to our public course offering, we offer private courses for companies wishing to host a private class for their employees (mlos). For inquiries about setting up a private course offer please send your request with the following information to etella@teammgmtsvs.com  (company name, requested date , full address for course location & number of students. Please note: a minimum of 10 students are needed to host a private course offering. Please be sure to check our course calendar for availability. 


Course Registration Fee

Registration includes: student course book, nmls recording fees, certificate of completion. Each student is responsible to bring their own food and beverage unless otherwise noted at the time of registration) 

Fee Include: 11 Hour Class, Books, Certificate of Completion & NMLS Recording Fee

  • NYAMB Members: $199.00 (per person/pre-registered)
  • Non-Members: $299.00 (per person/pre-registered) 

Due to limited seating Walk in Registrations are based on first-come-first-served seating. Pre-Registration is encouraged to guarantee a seat in the class.

Policy & Requirements for Satisfy Your Course Completion

  • Registrants must agree with all course policy put forth by NYAMB and NMLS Code of Conduct
  • Each student must hold an active license and provide their individual NMLS # at the time of registration & on-site during student check in. 
  • Each student must have in possession an current US Gov't photo ID (drivers license or passport) at the time of registration and on-site during student check in. 
  • Late entrance to exceed 10 minutes will not be permitted to attend the class. An alternative class date will be offered providing there is one scheduled for the academic year. 
  • No use of laptops or cell phones are permitted during class.
  • Each student is required to review the course syllabus provided at class. 
  • Students are encouraged to brown bag or can order their lunch with the group for work through lunch.  Coffee is provided in the morning. Note: some course offerings provide purchase of lunch at the time of registration.  
  • Each student will be required to complete the full 11 Hour classroom course to receive credit for the class and will be required to sign in and out with the course proctor the day of the class. (any student who leaves without signing out will not be granted a certificate of course completion) Classes will start at 8am and end 7pm (working lunch) unless otherwise noted.
  • Each student is expected to participate in class room & group activities.
  • Each student who meets the above requirements will receive upon completion of the 11 hour class a certificate of completion signed by the approved lead instructor for their record. Lost or damaged certificates are replaceable for a fee of $25 per issue request. 
  • NYAMB is responsible for the recording to NMLS all student course completion within 10 business days from the date of course completion. Students who do not provide an accurate combination of their name and nmls# will NOT be recorded with the NMLS as have completed the required 11 Hour course. 
  • All instructors and students must treat each other with mutual respect while in the classroom.

Cancellation & No Show Policy

No refunds or credits will be issued for no shows. A credit for an alternative class date and location within the current academic year will be issued for cancellations that are received in writing at least 7 business days prior to the scheduled class. If there are no further class offerings remaining within that academic year, there will be no credit issued. No exceptions! Late arrivals past 15 minutes from the start of class will not be permitted to enter the class.
